PacWave Project - Site Visit
A diverse group of DFA staff from PCMM, UFIO, and Risk Services visited the PacWave project in Seal Rock to observe the impressive construction progress of this groundbreaking facility-- the nation’s first pre-permitted and grid-connected open ocean wave energy test site.
From the Driftwood Recreation Site, where the subsea cables will come ashore, the team witnessed the rare sight of the three ocean vessels actively laying cables offshore. The team then toured the Utility Monitoring and Connection Facility, where power generated by from the wave energy converters at sea will be transmitted to the Central Lincoln Public Utility District.
This unique project highlights OSU’s dedication to pioneering innovative solutions for complex climate change challenges. PacWave complements OSU’s expanding marine laboratory, Hatfield Marine Science Center, located in nearby Newport.
Free Office Supply Program
To promote sustainability and reduce department expenses, Surplus Property offers a free office supply program. OSU departments can acquire office supplies and housewares valued at $5 or less, with a limit of $20 per visit. Please note that delivery fees still apply.
